Medellin Map Art
Medellín's grid runs north-south through the Aburrá Valley, hemmed by the steep ridges of the western and eastern cordilleras. The Medellín River cuts through the center, channeled and constrained, dividing the city into eastern and western sectors connected by a handful of bridges. The valley floor narrows toward the south, where the city compresses, and widens north toward Bello, making the street pattern increasingly cramped as you move uphill into the surrounding comunas.
