Jaipur Map Art

Jaipur's grid divides into nine equal squares, each 1,200 feet on a side, following an 18th-century plan by Bengali mathematician Vidyadhar Bhattacharya. The Aravalli Hills frame the city's eastern edge, while the Pink City's blocks align to cardinal directions, with wide avenues like Sanganeri Gate Road and M.I. Road cutting through the orthogonal street pattern. The walled Old City occupies the southwest quadrant, its boundaries still legible, while newer development spreads eastward and northward beyond the original geometric frame.
