Delhi Map Art

Delhi's map splits between the Yamuna River on the east and the planned grid of New Delhi to the south, imposed by Lutyens in the 1920s with its wide radiating avenues centered on the India Gate. The older walled city crowds north of the Yamuna, its streets a dense medieval tangle, while satellite towns and ring roads spiral outward, with the Delhi Metro's blue and yellow lines now threading through every district.
